VR Uniblock has developed a wireless data transmission hardware platform with no impact on resolution quality or latency, focusing on VR/AR applications.
Data volume, latency, quality – at least one of these main parameters is sacrificed by other companies involved in the development of wireless data transmission systems. It is impossible to create a high-quality product while neglecting the importance of such vital parameters. The unique solution developed by VR Uniblock has solved this dilemma.
Generation 1 (2016 y)
Reduction of transmitted data amount via compression – a standard approach in the development of wireless data systems. Depending on the compression algorithm, the general approach settles on a trade-off between quality or latency, negatively effecting one of the two or both parameters. VR Uniblock’s mission is to never compromise with the user experience. As a result, our team has developed the technology that combines existing hardware and the unique algorithm. This technology allows the transmission of high-data volume video without compression and with minimal latency.

Generation 2 (2018 y)
Physical size optimization and signal occlusion improvement allow not only implementation of a multiplayer mode, but also integrate the system into VR headsets (HTC Vive, Oculus Rift etc.), so that the data transmission can be done without any external devices. The integration of the VR Uniblock system into a smartphone allows immersion into the world of top-quality VR experience with only the help of a smartphone. The phone display can then demonstrate a VR game feed which is not inferior in quality in comparison to any VR system connected to a PC with an advanced graphics card. This approach provides additional convenience and accessibility as well as a totally new VR experience option.
Specifications:
Generation 3 (Ready)
Integration of the current technology inside HMDs or smartphones does not realize the full potential of this system. IP Module reference design – is the next step of VR Uniblock’s development. Small microsystem size solution implemented with MIMO antenna, reduced energy consumption, multiplayer capability, universal connectivity with multiple hardware options - all in combination with high speed, transmission stability and long operating distance will make this system not only effective but accessible for a mass market use.

The most inconvenient part in a VR headset is wires. Thick cables become a troubling source of discomfort as they limit movement and get underfoot. The obvious solution is to create a wireless headset with VR content that is transmitted over the air. Existing adapters for wireless data transmission are bulky, heavy and technologically primitive.
VR Uniblock presents a new vision for wireless transmission systems offering a solution integrated into existing VR headsets while avoiding additional external devices. There is no need to hang on themselves some heavyweight devices to get rid of uncomfortable wires. In addition, the technological solutions developed by VR Uniblock allow transmission of lossless data without delay and at high data volume. The implemented multiplayer mode additionally expands the possibilities of using VR.
Wireless data transmission in VR perfectly finds its place when it comes to just one user - base stations easily track two joysticks. But what about when existing content allows using a multiplayer and no one wants to get tangled up in wires? When adding users the tracking approach with two cameras does not work, because the system cannot distinguish which user owns a particular receiver.
When using a VR UniBlock transceiver in 3x1 mode, this problem is completely resolved since the radar principle is used to determine the position of users in space. A distinctive feature of the VR UniBlock algorithm is the mismatch value, which does not exceed 5 mm.
The scope of Mobile VR applications is getting wider every day. Thanks to Mobile VR, people acquire great opportunities in areas such as education, medicine, real estate, culture, marketing and so on. Millions of developers around the world are working on the quality of content so that people can use VR technology with greater satisfaction.
The quality of VR content is growing but the main problem is that today's smartphones do not have enough processing capacity to render the video in the way that meets expectations of a modern mobile phone user.
Consequently, whatever is the content - people cannot be satisfied with the quality of experience mobile devices deliver.
VR Uniblock solution allows you to unlock the full potential of any smartphone. Using smartphone as a display device along the VR Uniblock solution makes it possible to get the most from Mobile VR.
In fact, a smartphone does not need to render an image that a user sees - it only needs to display an image received from a PC or a cloud or other source that has much more processing power than a smartphone. Using PC resources for rendering and using displays of smartphones our solution allows us to reach a new cost effective level in the field of Mobile VR application.
Today almost everyone on the planet can use Internet with Wi-Fi technology. A Wi-Fi technology can theoretically give people a data transmission rate of no more than 10 Gb/s but in practice it’s even less. The instability of the speed that the user feels is largely due to the fact that many other Wi-Fi users have the ability to share the same communication broadband.
VR Uniblock operates at frequencies other than Wi-Fi, which allows data transmisson at speeds many times higher than when using Wi-Fi technology. The VR Uniblock solution allows users to connect to the Internet inside a single room preventing other devices to share the same broadband, which is best reflected in the final speed and stability.
Very soon the world will switch to self-driving cars which need to get as much data as possible about the traffic situation around for the comfort and safety of passengers.
VR Uniblock system integrated into cars and smartphones allows you to instantly collect all the necessary information not only from the cars around you but also from people to ensure additional safety. Thus self-driving cars will have more data to make an optimal decision about a pedestrian moving in a blind zone hidden from machine vision systems.
